Description
The title sounds a bit mercenary as a dedication, but it's such a great Motown tune written by Smokey Robinson and performed by one of the original signings to the Motown happening, the Contours, better know for their sizeable hit, Just a Little Misunderstanding.
I can strongly recommend you either to rent or buy a really fitting epitaph to the band behind more number one hits that the Beatles & the Beach Boys combined.
That DVD is titled Standing In The Shadows of Motown, which gives a very detailed insight into the make up of all the musicians in that orchestra.
The Funk Brothers was the driving force behind the Detroit era of Motown.
Sadly, most of these talented players have died, but the replacement to James Jamerson, the legendary bass player, Bob Babbitt, is still around and has worked with Chairman of the Board, Diana Ross (solo) and Barry Manilow as well as that bass line on the classic hit, Cool Jerk by the Capitols, not to forget Headline News, by Edwin Starr.
I mail Bob on occasion and if you ever feel like a musical jaunt down memory lane for half an hour or so, just visit Bob Babbitt's web site and look at his vast discography:-

i remember war by edwin star,the time i was in amsterdam hippie flower power in the late 60s motown was it, the temptations with papa was a rolling stone and masterpiece a lot of good funky music,and the people from surinam clothed in the newest fashion in amsterdam ,i am talking about the pimps of course lol,brings back sweet memories steve.well done .favoorized. velvet leather pants and jacket and crap like that hehehehe.
