Picture taken in Pont de Montver in south france, 2010.
The door in the picture has a door knocker which is shaped like a hand, unfortunately a little small in this picture.
You will find a couple of old houses down there, which still have this hand shaped door knocker.
The interesting part are the fingers.
If the hand does have a ring on its ring finger, than this is the home of a catholic family.
If the ring is on the middle finger, it is supposed to be the home of a protestant family.
A hand with no ring (like the one the picture, even if it is hard to see here) will indicate the house of a protestant who was forced to "reconvert" to the catholic religion.....
thought it would be kind of "kewl" to know ;-)
