Description

I recently saw Dominik Lenardo's fabulous "SteamPunk Patrol Boat and instantly knew I had to get it. He has thought of everything; in addition to a solidly modeled boat, he has added props (even scattered shell cartridges from the guns)and a lot of useful poses for the crew. Here's the link to his Renderosity store, if you're interested: http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?vendor=206662 Dominik has a lot of other excellent, well-thought out models and sets--and all for a very reasonable price. His "Spaceship Cockpit" interior is one of the best that I've ever used. The "Sci-Fi Streets Construction Kit" at $16.00 is Dominik's most expensive product. Everything else in his store is below $14.50 and most are below $12.00 with no sacrifice in quality whatsoever! The only thing wrong with this picture is the lack of smoke coming out of the smokestack. I have to say that as impressed as I am with both Vue6 and Vue7, I have been very disappointed in their smoke volumetrics. I struggled with the Materials Editor every which way to get a realistic looking smoke and got nothing except very solid looking results. When I finally thought I'd gotten what I wanted, Vue rendered it as invisible!!! Any suggestions out there, I'd sure appreciate them. Thanks for looking and for your comments and favorites selections. They all encourage me. Jeremy CREDITS: Vue6 Pro Studio, Poser6, PostShopPro5. Terrain: from "Islands & Beaches" collection by Karen Verba (Rendo/Cornucopia3d?). Water texture: "Windy Waves" by Gill Brooks (Cornucopia3d). Vehicle: "SteamPunk Patrol Boat" y Dominik Lenardo aka coflek-gnorg (Renderosity). Crew: Poser 4 Lo-poly P4m and P4w (Curious Labs). Shore and Ship Wakes: Mark Lawson's "Monsoon's SeaVue" primitives (Renderosity, Cornucopia3d). Bears: "New Bears" morphs and textures for the Poser4 Bear by Lyne Masamitsu (Vista Internet Products).* * Unfortunately, no this wonderful site is longer in existance.

Great scene! Nice boat wake. Me, I can't get Vue to do much more than annoy me, but mostly that's from lack of understanding.

I'm just totally impressed by the wake you have achieved in this image. That just blows me away. Didn't notice the lack of smoke until you mentioned it. Fantastic image in all respects (despite the lack of the smoke.)

fantastic work, Jeremy! :) But I cannot give you any suggestion... I'm not able with Vue, only small experiments and then nothing... maybe I should resume practicing!

Excellent image. Might give some of Jepe's effects a try. There are all kinds of effects that might work for what you're after.
