Whether we are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Taoist,Hindu, whether you worship ANYTHING, or nothing at all, we are ALL Americans.
As such we are ALL entitled to the rights guaranteed to us by the Constitution.
Muslims chose to build a community center in New York City in the community in which they live. They did so as a means to reach out to city and nation in which THEY ARE CITIZENS.
It is true that the Saudis would never let us build a church in Mecca.
We are not Saudis. God forbid we should ever act like Saudis.
Would you tolerate an authority forbidding you to build your church in your neighborhood?
It is strange that those who most profess a fear of Sharia Law conquering this country are those who implore us to imitate it.
Religious tolerance is what best distinguishes us from the terrorists, the Taliban, and Al Qaeda! Don't let Conservative hate-mongers tear the away at very fiber of America.
