from York..a simple inscription above eye level, on a street corner. The 'letter' side inscribed with a degree of sophistication, with minimal decoration and the date itself....one must ask what was happening in England in that year...turmoil in the Civil War. I love finding little inscriptions like this. Glad that you enjoyed the glass window.. Jean
