Description

Continuing my exploration of Poser7. Easy to learn but the content system is lamentable. About the only solution is to create lots of different runtimes for each topic. The speed of Poser7 is only about a quarter of Daz Studio 3 but presumably Poser 8 is better. I was pleased to get Poser7 for only $50 at Content Paradise. Why would a Daz Studio user bother? Well many merchants are very poor at saying if products are Daz Studio compatible or not. Behave like only Poser exists. Most Poser products work OK with Daz Studio but not ones using Dynamic cloth, python scripts or complex shaders. Now that I got Poser in reserve the penalty for getting caught out is less.

An absolutely stunning portrait...one of your best. I have poser 8, the content system is slow, but you can at least refresh it, sometimes if i add content to daz it shows up in poser, you are right, unless content is dedicated to daz then the matts sometimes don't work,poser is difficult to get to grips with, especially the lighting, posing and the render engine....

You are making excellent use of Poser I see. I find the content system a bit less opaque than DAZ myself. And $50 is why I have Poser 7. Great image!

Great image. Once you figure out Poser's quirks, you will be more happy with it. The material room will give you so much more power with shaders and such. It does have alot that Daz does not. Daz is still a good program as it renders the images differently. I find the content library so much easier and better organized in Poser.. Oh well as long as we make nice renders that others enjoy..

The fact that a lot of products are only Poser compatible definitely makes it worth having although I find myself using Daz3 more. I wish more vendors would make their product compatible with both. Nice render
