Previous: The deconstruction of construct D
My corporeal form lives with my wonderful wife and six eccentric cats in beautiful Sedgefield, but my dreaming body is frequently elsewhere, exploring the fractal universe and marveling at nature's chaos. I love traveling to places that exist only as mathematical constructs on my computer and bringing back snapshots that sometimes remind me of the real world (whatever that means), sometimes of metamagical worlds we can visit only in our imaginations. I trained as a biologist and run a small company specialising in science publishing - writing, editing, illustrating and typesetting. For 3D world building I use Vue, Daz Studio and Poser, but I've also used Bryce since version 2 and done some work with Terragen, Carrara and Groboto. For technical illustration I use mainly Illustrator and Photoshop.
Thanks for visiting my little corner of Renderosity, and to everyone who has kindly commented on my images or added my works as a favourite, thank you for that too. Craig.

If I never told you, my first art was music, classical and jazz, so I knew it from both the cloistered intense world of classical conservatories (with teachers who scared God into you, lol) and the dark clubs of jazz, which I played in in my teens 20s and 30s. You got all of it here. The intense unreal red lighting, the silhouette of the soloist (her fingers actually show as much classical movement as rock), the absorption in her face as she solos, etc etc. And then there's the design: The activity all on one side so that the left is drenched in that darkness that so befits concerts, esp jazz, pop, etc. The way the cymbals almost seem like a halo or 'angels wings' for her. The line-play of the guitar neck with the drum and mike stands, the cymbals, the circles of the drums against the linear neck---you have a real abstract piece of lines and circles and shapes going on here, a kind of visual music to match the image. And a few hints of equipment on the left---a familiar sight to all who've concertized and glanced around while they were playing. I can only do one image per today, it'll be hard for me to come back for a while, so it's not easy to choose 'one'. But this was wonderful because of my own background, and because it's obviously dear to your heart as well. A beautiful piece. I hope all is well, and I hope all went well with your run! Your life sounds great! Stay healthy out there---I hope you can do all you want, esp as your summer is coming on! A beautiful piece of Poser work from you.

I don't remember a chick being in Gentle Giant...??? Awesome POV and lighting. If you want to see some real bass playing check out, "Behold...the Arctopus". They have some videos on YouTube. (you might want to turn the volume down)

Beautiful and sensitive portrait of a guitarist. Gorgeous and realistic stage lighting as well. I'm also impressed with the hand poses. What appears at first to be a simple scene in reality is packed with so much fine detail. Superb work! As you can see, I've fallen behind in my comments so I hope you and your wife did well in the marathon or at least managed to live through it.
