Description

The young son of a U.S. Navy pilot has borrowed his father's old aviator's helmut and, with toy airplane in hand, twists and dives around the lawn of his home. His mother calls him from the world of his imagination back into the real world. It's time for lunch. It is the summer of 1941. America remains at peace but her government is already drawing her into the European War with her clandestine Leadlease program for Britain. In just a few more months, the United States will be attacked by the air forces of the Imperial Japanese Navy at Pearl Harbor. Within a day, America will have entered World War II on the side of the Allies. Today, though, on this lazy June day, the only war will be in the imagination of this little boy. One thing is sure; the coming four years of war will inalterably change the lives for himself and his family. ________________________ I had in mind to say more above, but decided to keep it simple for once. (I tend to complicate things more than necessary.) This render was a real struggle to get the way I wanted it. For once, I think I actually accomplished exactly what I'd intended from the start. (A rare occurance!) I'm pleased with it. Hope you will be too. Thanks for looking. And for stopping by. Comments are always appreciated--both positive and negative. Jeremy CREDITS: Vue7 Pro Studio, Poser6, PostShopPro5. Aww before so many things that in my mind take away from such simple pleasures as this... when children had to actually make up games in their minds and use their imagination instead of the internet and all the electronic games that clutter their young minds now a days.. opps I guess I went off on this one.. but it really is a lovely scene, nicely done.

Very nice work. Perfect in every detail. (except the modern Wyoming license plate on the Chevy -- yes, I know, the most picky nit ever) Good backstory too.

Ahh,,I love the historical part and the innocence of all toward the coming war. Europe already feeling it..others a bit isolated for the time. Well done.
