Description

UF5 Thank you for stopping for a look. Your comments and suggestions always are very much appreciated. Pilot lights are such a wonderful metaphor for life in general. The pilot light is a tiny flame that keeps burning using a bare minimum of fuel while the furnace is not being used. Then when the thermostat says the furnace has to fire up, it pumps gas into the burner, that tiny pilot light flame instantly ignites the incoming gas into a burning inferno and soon the furnace is pumping out hot air. If that tiny pilot light was had been blown out there would not have been any thing to ignite the gas pumped into the burner. There fore it not only helps the furnace work efficently but even more important, if the pilot light was not on the gas pumping into the furnace and not burnt off would build up to where the house is a giant bomb waiting for a spark . Luckily now we have safety switches so if the pilot light has gone out, the gas turns off so that you dont get that build-up of dangerous gas. So each person has the equivalent of a pilot light burning deep inside them. We need to always keep feeding that tiny flame of desire (about what ever we have passion in) so that the big flame can catch and burn when the opportunity presents itself. Too many people go thru life showing no passion in anything they do, those are people who have let thier inner pilot light extinguish. Just like a malfunctioning furnace with no pilot light on, these people become inefficent not doing what others need of them, but also they can become quite dangerous, when the building emotions and such that are all building up finally ignite in a giant fireball. Sorry for the lenghty writeup, it was just something that this image brought to mind. Have a great Monday and creative week. Jim

I love the piece! My immediate sensation is that if I could see a pilot light in all wavelengths beyond normal vision, this is exactly the sort of thing I would see. Well done! I can’t wait to see what is next. Also, you philosophic accompaniment to the piece is manna from heaven. I dearly love such thought provoking considerations.

A great pilot light and story. I agree you need to keep that pilot light fed or your passion dies.
