Description
The mage goes up the the sacred high place where it is said magic force flows freely....for those like him who can channel it, and have the magic flow into them.
This image is a first for me in three ways. It is my first image to uses composited layers in Photoshop. Yes, every one of the images in my gallery to date is a single layer of the original render. This one has four layers! This image also represents the first time I have used Photoshop brushes in an image. Amazing, but true..lol. It is also my first experiment with DAZ's UberShader for skin surfaces.
I am pleased with the result of my firsts, and I hope you like it too. Many thanks to my good friend Carl (DrCarl) who taught me how to use the Alpha Channel in Photoshop (another first in this image, actually)....not a big deal for most of you, but I am a real Photoshop noobie. Thanks Carl!
The image lost some sharpnes in resizing. Please ZOOM to see the surface detail!
Thanks to all of you for your wonderful support in your comments and favs...I appreciate them so much!
Big thanks to all of you who favorited my last image, "The Cosmic Dance" which made the artcharts this week at number 5:

I'm always glad when I can see some magic in your renders, Marco! And I always tell myself that I DO have to use this magical stuff more often... but then, when I'm working on my next picture, it's gone... Now, when I have put this desire into words, it's quite possible it will stay in my poor memory for a longer time... :D Love this render, the stunning character and his excellent outfit (I should use it more often!), and the surrounding architecture that adds the right background to this scene. Well done, my friend! :) Vashek

Very nice work. Layers in photoshop can have nice effects, some of my images have several to get the effect I want.

Well, first, CONGRATS on making the charts! Your excellent work deserves to be there every week! Secondly - WOW! Most excellent work! For all those 'firsts' you did a fantastic job! You'll be a Photoshop 'pro' in no time from the look of this! Photoshop is an amazing application, and there's a lot to learn. I've been playing with it for years, and I still learn something new almost every time I use it. You are learning well, my friend! You've already stepped well beyond the 'noobie' stage! :-D

Amazing scene and beautiful work. Love the hairs :)

Very fine first effort on your layering. I'm more familiar and comfortable with PSPXI than Photoshop (I have CS4) but I go back and forth between them sometimes using features from both depending on the 'comfort' level I have. Excellent character, textures, and coloring... the effects really pop, as well they should. Very nicely done and a tip o' the hat to Dr.C for helping you expand your versitality.

Great work with the brushes! The skin shader turned out great. You'll have to share the settings you used. I'm jealous :)
