I am brand new to creating 3D art, though I have enjoyed perusing Renderosity for over two years, looking at all the beautiful art others have done. I had tried fiddling with Poser years ago (Poser 2 or 3, I can't remember which), I was totally lost and gave up on it. Then I got Poser 7 for my birthday this year and thought I'd give it another try. Thank goodness for Freebies!!!! Before I knew it I was running all over downloading Freebie after Freebie and seeing what I could do with them.
I have absolutely no formal training in art, let alone 3D computer generated art, but I've spent literally days browsing websites and filling my sponge-of-a-brain with tutorials. I'm the kind of person that learns best by doing than reading, and so a lot of what I've learned so far was by the age-old "let's push this button and see what it does!". I've spent a lot of time spinning dials and laughing my head off at the result....some moments of nearly coming to tears, but through it all I'm learning and having fun!
I'm a 46-year-old extremely devoted wife and mother. I love creating art (I've done pencil drawings, charcoal, pastels, watercolors), and writing (1 published short story, 2 published poems). I'm also heavily into Roleplaying, and a lot of the work I will be uploading here will have to do with my "online persona". In fact, my first picture I uploaded here, "Master's Chambers", was actually created by me to use in a 3D chat program as one of the rooms in our "virtual" home where my husband and I roleplay together.
I am hoping that people will see my work, and not be afraid to offer constructive criticism. I know I have a great deal to learn, and I very much appreciate honesty.
