All the RayTroopers love their general, Leonore Koopman. She strikes a pose in that unarmoured skinsuit, those unpowered thighboots and that hood, while the handray she holds is an antique, no use against an enemy powersuit. The RayTroopers don't care about the posing, because they aren't interested in seeing her fight. They just want to know that her tactical ingenuity will always be there, to bring them victory. When male humans became extinct, after the Third Sex War, there was a widespread belief that warfare would become a thing of the past, as it had been so strongly associated with the male sex. In the event, of course, this proved to be a delusion. After all, the Sex Wars themselves had militarised trillions of women across the galaxy and quite a lot of them liked being starsoldiers. As a member of the Military Caste, Abi Thomsen always wanted to be a RayTrooper and volunteered at the earliest opportunity - that's what her Caste was engineered for, after all. She loves flying into combat, drenching an enemy position with the power of her rayweapon. For Abi and her sisterhood, if war did not exist, it would very definitely be necessary to invent it. If Abi has one criticism of her general, it's that she tends to call off battles that little bit too soon. If the enemy position has been rayed to glass and the survivors are igniting their 'packs, where's the problem in raying a few more of them? Koopman always lets some get away, for some reason that escapes RayTrooper Thomsen. She'd find the truth surprising. Leonore Koopman has remained a starsoldier because she is good at it, but, unlike Abi and the other flying infantry, she has always hated warfare. She is old enough to be pre-Caste and to have joined the starforce before the current cycle of wars began. She still hopes to see peace return to the galaxy in her lifetime. Magnanimity in victory, she believes, will be vital to achieving that. This is a new version of a picture I uploaded quite a while back. I wanted to have a long line of starsoldiers trooping into a shuttle, but my old PC and Poser version couldn't handle more than four amd I had to do lots of juggling with render passes to manage even that. New PC, new Poser and I can get much more of the effect I originally hoped for (and I can render it in one go, too).
