Brazil, Ilha Grande. We weren't lucky with the weather, Ilha Grande (the big island) is very well preserved because up to 1994 it was the site of the largest and worse high securiy jail in Brazil. The negative image has saved the place from excessive tourist buildup, up to now. The beach of Lopez Mendez is said to be one of the best the world over, but the weather was awful. Rain was falling, it was quite windy, and the beautiful sandy beach was littered with dead penguin carrions, and vultures feasting on them ...
