very, very interesting. i was expecting a different palette before the image loaded. not due to the topic, but the general light and tones of your images. the composition is definitely simpler, though no less striking. and her skin is much smoother. all in all, it looks like you're trying out some new techniques, which is awesome. i love both styles, and i'm always for artistic exploration. the only suggestion i would make would be to anti-alias the edges of your render before compositing. i like the expression, the pose is very natural, and the sword makes a good diagonal (always a good addition to a composition). i think the hair color and makeup make a good departure from the average goth versions of Alice. i also like the golden brown of what seems to be the sky.

Wonderful pic and nice theme! Do you know American McGee's Alice? A great video game about a more adult vision of Alice in Wonderland. It's totally the same kind of universe.
