Description

Himalayan Balsamis a large annual plant, native to the Himalayas (resulting in its the colloquial name of kiss-me-on-the-mountain in the UK). the flower shape has been compared to a policeman's helmet, giving rise to the alternative common name Policeman's Helmet. Himalayan Balsam is sometimes cultivated for its flowers. It is now widely established in other parts of the world (such as the British Isles and the United States), in some cases becoming an invasive weed. I hope you like it Thanks for your kind comments, take care, smile and have a colorful and creative day.

I don't think I would put it in the same category as a weed Much too prety I think.... But anyway.........what one's weed is another man's treasure I think I have found it in this image.... Sort of reminds me of a bleeding heart but I know it's not one:( Great capture....POV and presentation Excellent presentation Hug Susan~

Oh, jij hebt 'm ook; erg mooi en lieflijk zijn die bloemen. De druppel vind ik hier ook zo leuk. Wat ruiken die zoet, hè?

It amazes me that some of the most beautiful flowers can be invasive weeds when they escape into countries other then their homelands! This one is a beauty!

Beautiful capture. In the Netherlands we call this plant a 'Springbalsemien' which refers to the fact that it will throw its mature seeds many meters away. The scent is very penetrating. Some will love it. Personally I detest it after having smelled it a second.
