Description

I was testing volumetric clouds in Bryce 7 and sort of got carried away. ;-) Well, bombers have been popular lately? Moving it to Poser as a background, the B 17s are now lit with an IBL and an infinite light from above. The "smoke trail" from the failing engine is simply a square with a transparency map (same principle as the prop blurs). Thanks for viewing.

Excellent render. Your attention to detail is outstanding. You can almost hear and feel the flak. Too bad #4 engine just got hit. The vortex you created with the transmapped square is dead on. There'd be a circualr vortex just after a hit and prior to forming a smoke trail. One of my personal pet peeves (having piloted multi-engined aircraft), is seeing renders with all the props in sync (especially on the same plane). You covered that very well. It appeared two of them were the same, but zooming in showed they were oh, just slightly adjusted. I'd have no qualms about hanging this in one of Air University's halls. Too bad I don't have that authority. I'd snag a print from you. :o)

i agree with wlmav33 i think the picture is well captured and i could almost feel the flak from anti aircraft guns.. with the attention to detail on the planes prop..i am really amazed that someone would remember to think of adjusting the syn of them...way cool....
