Description

Back deck/Night capture Nebraska Cone-head Grasshopper Not normally found here in Florida Hope you all enjoy and please zoom. Thanks for the comments. I could do better if I had a real macro lens. The closet I can get with this lens is 4.8 feet and still get a fucus. So some pictures like the last one are cropped, in that case alot!

But you got a very fine shot here, Kim. Nothing else to do than to wish for a macro lens for Christmas or what you celebrate around that time with presents included LOL !

Awesome Shot..If I remember correctly years ago they use to sell adapters for your 35mm Camera to convert them for Micro Photography...My Old 35mm is in my closet collecting dust now..lol..I use a digital camera now,That has a setting for close ups.I could get about 6 or 7 inches from a subject and still be in focus:)

This shot is not cropped. the grasshopper sat still and let me get within 5 feet. I couldn't get closer then 7 to 8 feet with the bees before they fly off. It must be all the spraying they did around here for the mosquitoes the last few years that they are acting like this. They don't even stay on one flowers for more then a second or two. My other lens (Not a real macro lens either) is a 18 to 55mm lens and you can get closer with that, to .8 feet.

I too would love a camera that does macros too but I think you make a great job of catching everything without it.

Wonderful shot and I think you ought to invest in a macro lens. This is excellent work without one.

He must be on vacation in Florida. I think you did a superb job, the details are outstanding especially for a night shot. He's a beauty, nicely done.
