Description
Here is a beautiful Bold Jumping spider (Phidippus Audax). Actually caught this one inside my car when I was leaving the bank the other day. Don't know how it got in there, but coaxed it into an empty water bottle and kept it for a couple days in a jar.
Fed it a couple meals of flies while I waited until the cool of the morning to release it on my backyard shrub. Much more to eat there then in my car! lol.
Such a cool little one (about 7-8mm). Must have jumped on my camera about 4 times while taking pics of it.

Not only is he CUTE as pie but also has such a great expression. The 2 big eyes looking to the side to see if there is a way to get away from you while the 2 small eyes stare at you and try make sure you wont get the old book to squish and squash him. AWESOME Macro

you are braver than I am my friend. I would have jumped out of the car and as far as the camera, I am not sure what I would have done. I like to take their pictures but if they are headed in my direction, forget it. You have done an extremely wonderful job on this little guy.

Well Done! I see this species has the same iridescence of blue/green on the Cheliserae or mandibles (whatever the heck you call them). Mine was way up in Fort McMurray northern Alberta Canada. Can you send him to me Fed Ex so I can take some pics too? :) -Matt

What a charming little tale to go along with the stunningly photographed creature! They do get into the oddest places though, I've seen a tiny little one walking the wall of my office for two days now. I should snag him home and put him in a more natural habitat. : )
