Description
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR ALL THE LIBRAS IN RENDEROSITY!
Libra is the seventh astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Libra. In astrology, Libra is considered a 'masculine', positive extrovert sign. It is also considered an air sign and is one of four cardinal signs. Libra, also known as The Scales or Balance, is the only symbol of the zodiac that is represented by an inanimate object, rather than an animal or human. It's the Scales that symbolize Libra, and just like that balancing mechanism wants to stay even, Libras want to be on an even keel. The are also under the protection of Venus, the goddess of Love. Likewise, Libras are objective, just and want to do what's best for everyone. It's possible, though, that this penchant for fairness is for a different reason: Libras abhor conflict. The scales are also a symbol of justice. Libra natives are generally thought to be sociable, somewhat intellectual souls. In theory, Libras are peace-loving. In practice, they can quietly stir up all sorts of trouble with their ways. Because Libra enjoys balance in their lives, they seek the middle ground. Peace at any price! In this sense, they seem harmless. But, what can result is quite a ruckus! Libras are good when paired up, too, since they epitomize balance, harmony and a sense of fair play. While they are true team players at work, their favorite partnership is at home: marriage. Society needs rules, and these rules attempt to bring justice, equality, and fairness. On an individual level, Libra represents these laws of civilization. Libra comes across as very civilized and rather refined.
In the collage you can see a very old pair of scales that belonged to my paternal great-great-grandfather. On the plates there are ceramic roses from Nove di Bassano (Vicenza), where there has been a flourishing industry of small laboratories for centuries. The rose of the left is a model discontinued a century ago, because too time-consuming and expensive to produce. The brass ladies are small table bells. They are modern copies of 19th century originals.
Thanks for your kind comments.

That scale is just astonishingly beautiful - quite a bit of history there, lucky they are yours now ! BB

An intriguing montage my friend. I have to admit, I've occasionally had dreams of roses balance in a scale. I do not know what it means but it is a little eerie to see it represented here.
