No, for those of us who lost friends or relatives, those are not just names on a wall. They were very real people. I had a friend who was at some of the worst battles - his letter home were filled with "...remember so-and-so? He's just a name now." He survived the war, but not civilian life after the war - he committed suicide. How many who survived the war died from certain peoples malice towards them, and have no memorial? Sad, so very sad.

Our school had announcements each a.m. just before our first class. 1967. Heard my friend, whom I rode with on my school bus until he graduated two years ahead of me, had died in Vietnam. One of my WORST days ever. Along with another 58,000 who gave ALL. SALUTE!~SIGH~
