Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Have come home from this beach with a few babbles myself :) Nice timing to catch the action of this breaker!

WOW - excellent photo Marilyn! From your POV it looks like the wave would engulf him any moment! Jordan is a very fine young man!

I try that 'dodging the waves game' too and am not always successful!

Fantastic composition, and a great shot of the waves breaking on those huge rocks! Excellent image.

Great compo & capture! I'm always amazed how waves can look so huge and break on rocks and stop right there...seems like they should just keep coming!

I remember something like this at an isolate beach area in Puna side. The wave came around the rocks with full force and with boulders.....slammed on me. As I was rolling out with the wave, my cousin grabbed hold of me....boy was I lucky. Beware for the unexpected. Interesting shot. Aloha

The power of the waves...I love this coast. :-) You got perfect timing on this one.

Oh, by the title I thought we were talking ninja stuff. Stellar contrast in this stellar capture of the foam and froth of the waves as it beats against the rocks below. And I'm surprised your son didn't get his feet wet.

Excellent shot! I love the waves and the textures of the rock, especially the one in the foreground. Great composition and capture of the waves.

Breathtaking capture with the sea foam against the dark bolders. Glad that that wave didn't get him. Dana
