Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I have just lit my first wood fire of this autumn tonight! Glad you reminded us what a cord is, I learned that in primary but we've gone metric!

You are sure prepared for the next cold day or night. Aloha

lot of work for sure. guess you can cook on your fire? so a pot of soup will heat you up too

Lots of various and sundry textures in the above picture, Maz. I don't know if I can reconcile the above image and narrative with the blazing heat wave we're experiencing down here in Southern California this weekend. It's been running a cool (pun intended) 100+ degrees each day, with more on the way.

That's a lot of wood; ouch, I'm aching in sympathy just thinking about stacking it!

Yup. My son is doing the same. He doesn't order wood...he goes out and cuts his own trees and hauls them home in the spring. All summer he and his son chop it and stack it. Not everyone understands how much work it is to winter over without central heat. :-)

I'm not wild about electric baseboard heat, but it sure beats wood! That is a LOT of work.

That a good lot of wood nothing quite like a lovely fire on a cold winters night, Great collage, I've spent many a day cutting and stacking firewood..
