Description

ASTRA AND + Meet ASTRA and ASTRA + ! No, they’re not astronauts prepping for adventures on Aquarius nor android visitors to Earth from Aries Prime. They’re manikins in doarte’s MADHOUSE MIDWAY Historical Society’s Department of Human Flight … a saga that started way back in Greek mythology when that geek Icarus decided to test his wax-wing invention in a leap off Mount Olympus. A flight, as you all know, that ended abruptly when sunshine melted his crazy creation, ASTRA and + also represent something else … a contemporary art style popular with digital creators that combines past symbols with present forms better known as “STEAM PUNK “ ; ergo the old zeppelin revealed in the opened drapes … a replica of the Hindenburg dirigible that ended like Icarus when its hydrogen-filled tanks blew up when it attempted to land in New Jersey back in 1937. So where are we? Well, just as we promised to include you in upcoming water-world explorations, we’ll use the doarte imagination to take you on our human quests to navigate the stars. A SPECIAL NOTE FOR SYFY BUFFS… the nasal cone on +’s nose is another doarte technical triumph. It combines a special dust filter, radiation detector and radarscope to discover alien life forms on interplanetary expedition. doarte Thank you for your responses … trying to catch up on your wonderful imagery … been away with family problems.

I feel rundown but I had to stop and comment on this image! Very creative and unique work! I really like the outfits, very different and the headgear is awesome! I like different although my imagination is very good I cannot translate it as well yet. You on the other hand make it look so simple! I love this image. Your lighting is superb and the concept is awesome! Thank you for sharing!
