Description
I would NOT be uploading this new art work were it not for a certain "Art Patron" over there on deviantArt, (YOU know who you are :D) who replaced my dying Hard Drive with a new 1 Tetrabyte HDD.
Design inspired by camera zoom in on earlier design; which is a certain geometrical form study on refraction & transparency, using the "Alien Heliography" mat.
That version is currently rendering to HDD; it caused a crash on my old HDD, so, the two questions are:
1. Does a bigger HDD with larger Virtual Memory Space = less crashing potential?
2. Does the new Winblow$7 Ultimate OS organizing setup make for faster render times? The aforementioned "Alien Tower of Knowledge" was 59% rendered to old HDD AFTER 17 days when Bryce7 Pro crashed. As I write this, after 4 hours, it is currently 2% rendered to HDD, so we'll see.
Thanks for looking.

Great looking image. I don't think it's the OS unless you're looking for hyper-threading your processors and have a second hard drive set up to be virtual memory/pagefile. so far with 6gigs of ram, I've yet to have to tap into the VM on WIN7. I don't know Steve. I'd say it is more the combination of computer, processor(s) Ram, Hdd and OS that makes a difference

It's actually how the operational program utilizes the resources provided by the processor and associated RAM. Most of these programs can only operate in a maximum of 4Gig of RAM (if its a 64-bit OS otherwise only 2-gig) no matter how much you have available and usable to your system. Paging to HD doesn't help much in those cases as that is usually only helpful if you are running multiple processes in minimum RAM. In any case this is a very nice bit of your render.
