I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

I especially like the way the tree frames the image. Beautiful!

Superbly composed - I would not dream of doing something like this. I oft wondered if the water would reflect certain objects or images, and yes it does. The foremost balloon's is near the shore. A tip of the hat - Bob: again very well done!

@Rich; I already received a number of great critiques on this one which I have implemented; and, are now rendering. I think it will look better. I wish some of the folks here would give some constructive criticism such that one could be inclined to try them and improve their techniques.

In my opinion the big balloon is somehow disturbing the perfect idyll, I think.... or are the colours of the balloon not so fitting ??? something is disturbing me here, sorry !!! But nevertheless a wonderful and lovely composition, Bob..... greetings to you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An outstanding atmosphere to the scene- this almost perfectly mimics the season right now where I am; trees are starting to turn, but lots of green grass. We've also had several days with blue, clear cloudless skies like this. Maybe a few patches of grass that are turning dry and brown?
choronr
@Paul: The grass/mud file by dandelO contains both green and lighter green/brown patches - however, in this image, there is not a large enough area to display it. I recommend visiting the 'reworked' version which I think is much better.
