Description

A very simple render - I liked the way the hard lines of the space-age city echoed the organic forms of Skyland. Vue 8.4 Infinite - 17 hour render. TFL. Craig thumb_2112974.jpg

Nice render. Like the soft shine here and there just to give us a form of the space building.

Stunning POV and the lighting is out of this world!! I love how that one tree's silhouette stands before the moon and the clouds form a ground cover. It does not look simple at all. Great place for a vacation! Excellent sci-fi, I love it.

you sure do have a way with looming forms in the night...and a "17 hour render"? Do you know how outlandish that sounds to a 2D artist? I can picture 17 hours making something---and I have no doubt you've spent long periods setting up your images. But rendering? I've left my drawings for 17 hours, I've even begged them to get better, but when I came back? Nada. Zilch. Too bad...What's so sweeping about this piece is the broad perspective: This ship/colony/futuristic architectural structure sweeps across a large chasm, held aloft---it appears---by dramatic rock formations. And it hovers over a vast cloud cover (!)---telling us that this city may be suspended in the cosmos, or on top of an atmosphere somewhere. What a fascinating vision! And it's wonderful that you didn't solve it for us: You gave us a shot 'in medias res', in the middle of things where we don't know the whole area & so feel we've been dropped into it; a magnificent view. Great work with the light too, how it's intense on parts of the ship, but deep & dark on most others. It's lit by some intense moon(s), but perhaps also by some phosphorescent compounds in the skies, perhaps a glow from cities below (which light the clouds). We don't know. And it looks like you even added a waterfall. And the intense moon, with that silhouetted tree in front, is wonderful. Very fine sense of space, sweep and intense lighting. I like this one a lot, Craig.
