My name is Clive, resident in Cape Town, South Africa. I am an amateur photographer who has been enjoying the medium in a more serious manner since 2003.
I took a trip to the UK armed with a Minolta Maxxum 7000 that I had inherited from my Dad.
Out of the holiday snaps, I managed to get a few that I felt were quite good, but had no idea of how I managed to get them 'right'.
Since then I have done a couple of courses in the darkroom and joined a local photographic society where I was on the committee for a while.
Hopefully I am getting it 'right' more often these days.
I have a Minolta Maxxum 7 and being tied into the lens system, the Sony A100 DSLR was my introduction to the digital world. This has recently been upgraded to the Alpha SLT-A55 and I have to admit that I have shot more digital in the last five years than film!
My daughter Kristen (Kris10) and son Sean (fotoSean) have accounts here too, in the hope that they will learn too and share my passion! Sadly they have been rather quiet of late, much like their dad...
August 2015 marks the end of my 3 years as coordinator for the Photographic section of Renderosity. What a wonderful time of my life that I thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you all for the opportunity!
Keep the smile alive,
Clive

Great shot; it must be frightening to have that flying so low over the roofs, though!

Super shot!

Just can't get used to those 'bent' props. A brilliant plane, good to see it being improved / upgraded, rather than retired / replaced.

Still a nice capture!

I will always stop and look at a Herky-bird!

A very useful military plane

I just read an article about this plane (The J..) This is a good shot for 300mm.. I, at all airshows, have to set my camera on Auto, but last time the ISO, I set at on 200 on an over ride.. That gets a small amount of blur.. But, as you can see, the modern camera decides for itself no matter what you do, and you often get blurry or down right rubbish shots if you don't 'really' know what you are doing, or set Auto.. Trouble with re-setting the camera each time for a different picture, is you often miss allot of the 'action'.. Dilemma! Great shot though and they are cool props! Rob PS: Sorry to drone on Mate!

Great shot and never mind the slight blur. Makes it look like we are there!

Great catch of this maajor work horse. Check out the props - they are not working very hard - even for a landing. Dana
