Greetings to the people of Earth.
I've always wanted to say that! Now that I did, I can now get on with other things.
I'm a science fiction writer (not famous yet) born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I've lived in the Czech Republic and Germany, and though I am currently back in Chicago, much of my heart remains in the Czech Republic. Maybe it's the beer. Or the bread. I hope to live in Moscow soon, as a big portion of my heart already resides there. I've had an interest in science fiction since an early age and will probably maintain that interest for the rest of my life. I love SF, and anything else that embraces the spirit of discovery...or anything that chafes against the arbitrary boundaries of "conformity."Â
I discovered Renderosity a couple of years back when I was browsing the internet, looking for cool images to spark my imagination during a period of writer's block. It wasn't a serious block, but I needed something to make me ask the sorts of questions that I always ask before settling down to craft a short story or novella. Since that time, I've written quite a lot and I've begun to post photographs and other visual works that I created here...partially because I love the Renderosity community in general, and partially because the images and text-snippets that I have contributed here are something of an ongoing journal. I'm incredibly lazy when it comes to journal keeping, and so posting picures of particular significance actually helps me to remember the things I want to remembe, without having to eat into my fiction writing time by writing non fiction. Well, at least that's my excuse and I am sticking with it.
I entered into the field of photography totally by accident; I'd always been interested in capturing small stories, but it wasn't until my journey to Europe that I began to consciously seek out tableaus that imply stories in progress. As a result of that, my writing is growing in unexpected directions, and I look forward to becoming more and more active here, and in other artistic/publishing fields.
For those looking at my gallery, enjoy it and feel free to leave comments and sitemail! Good day to all!

Old, favorite shows from childhood (or even just when you were younger), are like comfort food. They always bring back pleasant memories and leave you satisfied. Best wishes to Corey.

Pasta, sounds good, I think I'll make some up myself tonight. With meatballs, all pasta needs meatballs. I'm really glad to hear Corey is doing better, reading some of your postings you seemed uneasy of his status at times. This is a beautiful shot, clear crisp and I certainly love the colour. Jewel tones make for classy structures. That's why I always wanted to live in the emerald city - just kidding. An excellent example of what modern architecture (50's-60's vintage anyways though this building could have risen more recently as well) promised to give to the urban landscape as it sacrificed the elegant curves and ornateness of previous eras. Alas, the last half century is marked more by the need to save money that the need to create a beautiful city. Don't get me started on the demise of streetcars.

Fantastic image!!!!!

First of all, FAB image!! I love the color, and those pillars are too cool. I love the way they're inside then outside then inside, like they have a story and a life of their own. The reflections are amazing! Excellent capture. I'm so glad to hear Corey is home and bored! Of course I don't wish boredom on him, but that's a very good sign. It means he's feeling better and WANTS to do more! Excellent news. Congrats on the bonding thing! Always good news. Let me know if Corey's dad opens a gallery here. I'll go check it out!

Great shot :) Glad to hear Corey is home and still on the road to recovery~ Home is so much better than the hospital... they are mean there... lol. You know, my husband and I just had a conversation tonight about TV shows and Rockford was one mentioned. They just don't make them like they used to.

I am glad to hear Corey is doing so well. I will be glad if Corey's father would join Renderosity to upload macro captures. When he joins Renderosity could you please lead us to his homepage so that we could enjoy his portfolio of pictures. Stunning capture my friend. Regards to Corey and his father. Is the pasta ready? I can smell it.

THat is a strange build but beautifully captured. Reading Corey is back home and recovering, getting his appetite back and boring and you cooking for him all sounds so great and makes me glad. Wonderful news. :-)

Oh wow Chip - what a glorious image! Well seen! I love the continuation of the pillars inside the building - quite neat! Welcome home to Corey!!! I'm so glad the recovery is going to plan! Corey - hopefully you will be up and "running" in no time! Look after yourself! Hugs to you both! xx

Fantastic POV and detail on this shot, Chip! I hate living in things like this, but as photographic subjects there's nothing like a big glassy block. Give Corey my best, I'm glad he's home where you can nurse him back to health!

Excellent POV and image. Sorry to hear Corey has been ill, and it seems he is on the road to recovery. Care-giving is a spiritual life changer, I believe. We are doing that now for my father-in-law, who is doing fine, but that is about all for now. Don't forget to take care of yourself, too.

Fantastic photo and great news about Corey. Hope he recovers quickly, and hope his dad can join us here on Rendo!

OUTSTANDING IMAGE! PERFECT SHOT!

Great capture, Chip. I really like the colours, and the way the architecture is framed. I too am revisiting childhood TV shows at the moment - "Sapphire & Steel" is my current addiction, a British low budget sci-fi outing from 1979, when story still had preference over special effects.... Good to hear that corey is still on the mend, please pass on my best wishes. Dzanetos

This just rocks--so much repetition and then those pillars walk in and get everyone's attention!! I remember James Garner from Maverick (omg, does ANYONE besides me remember Maverick??)--I'd watch it again if I could. Hi to Corey----- SO glad he's home and doing well!!

And the pillars go all the way up. Super shot. Dana
