What's New with The Art Of Carol Cavalaris
Galleries: I currently exhibit my work in several Colorado galleries, including juried shows at Art At The Center in Nederland, and Gilpin County Art Association in Central City. I also exhibit in several on-line art galleries. I also have on-going exhibits at various banks, community centers, libraries, restaurants, and also participate in local Art Fairs and Festivals. Art Licensing: I am a collectible artist with The Bradford Exchange, where my art is on a Dream Catcher Collection, as well as an exclusive figurine and sculpture collection. My art is also being licensed and is on a variety of products including: eSkins for laptops, iPads, iPhones, etc., puzzles that are being sold in Target, K-Mart, and other retail and web stores. Several of my pieces have been licensed by a company called The Mountain. They produce high-quality, environmentally-friendly T-shirts and other apparel, and have some of the finest wildlife and fantasy artists in the world on their team. It's amazing how the lion in the background seems to literally dissolve into the cave, and how your treatment of the rock seems to melt it into a grand cosmic spill. The textures, swirls & other energies in your rock, here, are sumptuous and very mysterious. Atop they almost have the look of closeup shots of layers of the sun, or of rich hues gliding down glass, as if a thick multi-colored rain were sliding down a window. Beautiful, Carol. And the lion's mane makes resonances in the wall behind him, with some beautiful deep purples 'reacting' to him deep inside the stone. And the lioness is lit by an almost internal light---your highlights on her, on the lower part of her body, on her legs and belly, are beautiful; and that tuft of blue above her hind leg is splendid. The rock on which she sits has light pouring over it, like it was spilling over because there was so much of it. And the overall textures surrounding the couple are opulent and sensual. A beautiful and mystical treatment of these magisterial beasts, capturing them in rest, with a bit of diligence thrown in (one is looking to our right with a restive but alert stare, and the other is looking at us while in restful ease). Another beautiful entry in your animal series, and the light & "spill" you've painted around them is simply luscious.
