Description

Captured 7/31/10, at the American Civil War Reenactment, held at the vast and beautiful El Dorado Park in beautiful Long Beach, California. Much better viewed full size. The youthful sergeant addressing his squad in fotos #3 & #4 looks like he's still in high school. For those awaiting the grand battle in eager anticipation, it's coming up soon. Wow, he does look awfully young; but then, many of the soldiers in the real thing were just boys too. I'm enjoying these shots very much, well done!

Oh Harry no battle scene before mid next week pls...lol, I will not be able to see them... This is a wonderful collage of group shots. Yes, he is young but he probably proved himself to be on top.

Harry, if I am not mistaken, the old sarge in the last picture is wearing his stripes upside down. For some reason they were worn upward in the 1860s...but in our day they are worn inverted...chevrons forming an inverted 'V'. Interesting images and collage my friend:)

The youthful sergeant doesn't surprise me Harry. A lot of "kids" went off to war with their fathers and older brothers. No age requirements in those days. Wonderful collage! Dana
