Description

UF5/PSP Thank you for stopping for a closer look. Any and all comments and or suggestions are welcome and appreciated. The little grey kitten (Sassy) I use as my avatar is now grown into a very curious and impressive adult cat. She seems to be mesmorized watching my work on the computer. She spends a lot of time sitting on my desk staring at the 25" monitor keeping an eye on the moving items. Last night as I was working on creating a new fractal, i noticed her reflection on the screen and it reminded me i wanted to learn how to import a photo into the creation of a fractal. I opened the UF tutorial and found out how to do it. This is a first effort at attempting the use of a photo as a layer of a fractal. There is a learning component that will take some trial and error in figuring out how to keep the photo clearly identifiable and yet not hinder the lighting the fractal needs.

Very cool concept. I look forward to more of these as you perfect the technique. I hope Sassy can find her way out of that picture.

One of the things I like about Apophysis is the option to save Images in Fully Transparent PNG format. Allows overlaying the Fractal over any image easy without loosing Fractal lighting. I don't know how UF handels Layers, you might get better results using PhotoShop or any other Image Editing software that handels Layers for control of Opacity and Overlay style. Peace

Awesome, simply awesome! I would say your blending control on this is perfect. I would assume you are using some combination of merge mode, layer positioning, and opacity control. You can get any control variation you want; it just depends on what you want. I think this rendering is stupendous and I wouldn't change a single thing! Sassy's eyes are really cool and blending of the fir into the fractal matrix is exactly right. The luminous components of the fractal have just the right intensity. This is, as the saying goes, "suitable for framing". Outstanding, Jim, I am impressed!

Beautiful work. Sassy looks quite comfortable in her pic and adding Fractal intenses the wonders art designing. The colors are outstanding,I agree it would be a good picture to frame as a keepsake of your pet. Great work again.

Excellent! You did a great job. My dearly departed Winky (my avatar) used to help me make my fractals too and he accidentally ended up in a couple of them when he got too close to the screen. HA!
