Description

Bryce7pro/DazStudio/Photoshop I have always admired the works of 1971s since becoming a member of Renderosity over three years ago.His amazing models and the settings he put them into were, and are,a source of inspiration for me.Imagine my surprise when he(Sergei) contacted me out of the blue, asking me if I would like to use his latest model in one of my images!I cannot begin to tell you what an honour that was,and I only hope I have done his model justice.Sergei, this one's for you! Ship is the Celestial Traveller by 1971s.Figure is one of Predatron's Lo-Res Modern Males...it and the Sea Dragon are from Daz3D and posed in DazStudio. The sky, light and atmo are all custom. The sea is composed of four terrains, rendered in a Pro 7 texture by David Brinnen. The terrain texture for the land mass is also one of his.Two clipped, inverted terrains rendered in a cloud texture create the splashes around the dragon. The smoke from the ship's chimney is composed of four spheres with a grey smoke volumetric applied. The propellor motion is a custom mat applied to a 2D panel which was duplicated and rotated in the direction of the prop. This was blurred slightly in Photoshop.A slight levels adjustment, signature and resizing were also done in Photoshop. Thanks for taking the time to view, and any comments you wish to leave! "It has been three days since we departed from the air harbours of Cape Orion enroute to the spice markets and intergalactic ports of Jakamel, where we are to meet up with our new research crew and their ship, the Centauri. My assistant,Jane, has spent the trip fighting air sickness and has stayed below deck for hours at a time. Our ship's captain,a thin and ragged fellow by the name of Hergoff, assures me that this is common for new air travellers, and that it should soon pass. For now I spend most of my time on deck, breathing in the salty air, accompanied by the constant chugging of the steam engines and the whir of the propellor as we wing above the seas.Large seabirds occasionally follow alongside, and the odd sea creature surfaces from time to time.As we sailed past a large mass of jagged rocks known as the Demon's Teeth, one such creature lifted it's leathery-skinned head in curiosity...a creature I call a Ram's Head Sea Dragon due to the large pair of curved horns that sprouted from it's head." I know what you mean. I was very surprised when he asked me to put his Celestial Traveller in one of my renders. He's an incredible modeler. I think you did it justice for sure. Really wonderful render. :o)

I'm very sorry to say that I am not aware of sergi or his models. I think you've done him high honors with his model. Fantastic POV! Very effective.
