Fair Trade Cacao, Costa Rica
Currently Costa Rica’s Cacao trade is affected by a fungus which blocks the formation of Cacao beans, however new resistant generation will become come available. Hand in hand with “Fair Trade” it will become a real success!!
Photo taken on a farm in the southern part of Costa Rica ….. and the chocolate produced on this farm was fantastic and so tasteful, especially in combination with the locally produced fruit!!
Costa Rica lies squarely in the tropics, at a crossroads connecting North and South America. This "rich coast" country, is bordered to the east by the warm Caribbean, and the Atlantic Ocean, and to the west by the Pacific Ocean. In between these coasts, lie lowland jungles, mountain forest draped in mosses, alpine tundra, and dry forest
