Description

I found this large fungi (diameter appr. 25 cm)yesterday at the foot of a beech. After some research I think it might be a Fomes fomentarius (Echte tonderzwam) or a Fomes applanatum (Platte tonderzwam). I'm definitely not an expert but to me it has most similarities with the fomentarius especially the light-colored edge but this fungi is quite rare in the Netherlands.
