Description

Eurasian Collared Dove - Streptopelia decaocto Collared Doves are almost always seen in pairs and, like many birds, remain loyal to their mates. Their song is a coo-COO-coo, repeated many times. It is phonetically similar to the Greek, decaocto ('eighteen'), to which the bird owes its name. kevrekidis.deviantart.com © 2010 Jordan Kevrekidis

I had one of these in my dove house for some time when I was raising doves. It was an injured wild dove that I nursed and it decided it liked living in my dove house with the white ones. they are wonderful to wake up to in the morning with their gentle song. Fantastic capture.
