Description
When the moon is full in late October, it's best to stay away from the deep dark woods.
The ones that love the things of the dark are all out, using their strongest incantations to call forth the that which is best left nameless from the deepest Void. Slowly through the mists the portal rises and begins to take form, solidifying as the chants become louder ..
I didn't stick around. Ran like a scared rabbit.

Another of my lovely sunny photos, perverted, twisted, darkened and warped to satisfy the dark side of me, grins.
The sorceress is a stock image from mjranum at Deviant Art. I tubed her out and turned into a silhouette. The portal and flaming thingies are from romiposer.blogspot. Mists are painted in.
I'm having so much fun with Halloween stuff this year, and I'm really happy that you are enjoying my offerings. You guys leave the best comments .. I think reading them is my fave thing about posting stuff. So thank you, you inspire me.

When I saw your title Jim Carey in the Cable guy sang a famous song that just clicked with your title - lol when the moon is full and all inside you dies don't you want somebody to hunt? don't you need somebody to hunt? wouldn't you want somebody to hunt? you better find somebody to hunt! lol sounds like a great song to me - lol

Truly amazing image Rita. Love the atmospheric effects, they're sensational! And the narrative has the feel of a Lovecraft tale. He was fascinated with the weirdness of New England, and he was quite right.There is a dark side to this region. In the town I live in there are strange tunnels which lead to a cave area on the river banks. And when the moon is full here during October, it illuminates a huge stone structure near the center of town. No one knows who built it or why. And Lovecraft is rumored to have stayed in the old hotel I now occupy. Great stuff! Oh, by the way, check out the books on Weird America.There is a series devoted to different states. One is " Weird New York".The author is Jeff Belanger. I think you'd fine them quite interesting and they're fully illustrated. Excellent Halloween images this year, love it!!!!!

I think Rita, that B-dog may have been in the woods, he has left his mark in the tree, no not that one, his paw mark :o) I think if my girls went into the woods, they would leave me to the evils & go hunting :o) Lovely image, hope the wee folk steer clear!!! Jane is on the mend. xxx

Oh that reminds me of The Dunwich Horror by HP Lovecraft! Really cool woodland scene! I love that duo tone blue on white, with just a hint of color from the fire. It reminds me of Old Dutch china that was painted in a blue glaze on white. (Dutch sacrificial china? Are there silverware sacrificial daggers to match?)

A super halloween image and the moonlight looks fantastic and very mysterious in this work. I think you were pretty brave to stay around to see this much and I bet your male companions were long gone. Excellent work with all the keystrokes to get your photo to look this dark and nightlike.
