Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Lovely place to relax, amazing image! Here is so cold, the winter seems to be getting closer and closer :(

Southern California (SoCal?) is such a different world than the pool table surface with splinters that is Chicago. It's warmer there too, and the only drawback is that the ground decides to wiggle on occasion; you don't have to shovel snow or deal with Midwestern smugness, usually spoken with a really nasal accent...and hey, it looks good. You get colors other than gray there, and cabbage isn't a viable decorative plant as it is here. Yeah, we're in cabbage season now and there are cabbages sprouting from decorative flower pots everywhere. I must admit that it's pretty, but it's nothing like SoCal. This is a great shot. It's nice and warm; it's relaxing. In short, it's just fabulous.

A lovely pool! Wish I had one, but I probably wouldn't use it often enough to justify having it. Enjoy it while you can!

I hope this makes up for a lot of the rudeness and overpopulation down here.
