Brother André (Saint) from Montréal The tomb of Brother André, located in St. Joseph's Oratory of Montreal Brother André will be canonized Oct. 17th, to become the Saint Brother Andre Please take a look this VIDEO of Brother Andre The canonization of Brother Andre does is not done without effort. For the humble religious become a saint - as will be declared Sunday on the St. Peter's Square - it took a lawsuit challenging religious know its outcome. Central to these efforts is the father Mario Lachapelle, who as vice-postulator of the case, defended the personality of Brother Andre and the wonders he has done. "It is as rigorous as for a civil or a criminal trial," Lachapelle said the father, in an interview in the headquarters of the Congregation of Holy Cross in Rome. Father Lachapelle work on the case of Brother André in 2004. Many vice-postulators have succeeded before him, since the process toward sainthood began in 1940. Several of them have faced the promoter of justice, that used to be called the devil's advocate during the trial stages of religion. "The role of postulation was that the brother Andrew is a saint, and the role of promoter of justice, or devil's advocate, was to say that this is so safe," explains Father Lachapelle . For a person to become holy, we need miracles. In fact, it takes exactly two: one for beatification and one for canonization. The healing must occur after the death of the prospective saint. The miracles must be rigorously authenticated respecting, as the father says Lachapelle, the following four conditions. The miracle must be: - Durable in time, that is to say that healing is prolonged for at least five years; - Near instantaneous. There must be a clear and immediate link between the demand for the special favor and healing. - Reflects the only future saint's intercession. That is to say the prayers for healing may not have been referred to another religious figure; - Scientifically inexplicable according to current medical knowledge. The latter requirement is particularly demanding. "We will seek the greatest medical experts, as seven of them and which are not necessarily believers," says Father Lachapelle. "Some people say it's all arranged. But beware me what I like best is that we go find experts atheists, believers of other religions to wear a really scientific opinion. " For brother Andrew, two miracles have been authenticated. The first occurred in the late 50's when an American named Joe Audino was spontaneously cured of liver cancer through the intercession of the founder of the Oratory. The second took place in 1999. It touched a boy in Montreal who suffered a severe brain hemorrhage following a bicycle accident. The doctors had ordered, but he recovered in a scientifically inexplicable after his parents had asked his brother Andrew. They preferred to remain anonymous. Not a saint Snag during his life, Brother Andre has not always been the behavior of a saint. Irascible, he could get angry at people who sought cures. "We often have an idea of the saints that borders on pink, which is detached reality," replies the father Lachapelle. "Why was he brother Andrew impatient? Was it a character flaw? Rather it was not because he received between 700 and 800 people a day who asked to be healed, "asks he. "Even Christ had a movement of impatience. You should see the reasons behind them. If that's the truth, if it's for the good of others, then it is acceptable. " Deeply human, Brother Andre has, according to Father Lachapelle, provide comfort and relief to many people who were suffering. "You always want to talk about miraculous events in the life of Brother Andre. But personally, what touches me, it was his human qualities, is the strength and the strength of his beliefs, he had confidence in God and his attention to next. Thanks Magik

Merci Magik
