Description

Buck has decided he doesn't want to live here anymore & has gone walkabout. Let me explain, he has been living inside. In fact after 5 days of being here he did get out the window but after we had looked for an hour he turned up on the front BUT since then he has NEVER tried to get out. We made a pen for him in the backgarden, just to get some fresh air. I used to carry him in & out, then it got to that he would run from the pen back into the kitchen. We used to laugh because he would beat me in, even batting my leg as he passed me & even Jasmine escorted him in & he NEVER once looked at the garden & wanted to wander round it. This particular morning it was raining & I told him I was going to beat him in as it was raining, surprised he didn't rush, I looked out the door & he had dissappeared & has not been seen since. We have notified all the cat rescues, vets, Brenda, where we got him from is ringing his previous owner in case he turns up there. I have done fliers, I will ring the RSPCA (even thouigh I don't like them) in case someone takes him there. It is as if he has dissappeared off the face of the earth. We are so worried, (writing this I feel so sick) it is the not knowing, only thing in his favour is he was used to looking after himself. Was so putting off telling you all but I have to now. Thanks for all the comments, so appreciated. xxxx

Gosh, Barbara, WHAT a worry! There is nothing more you can do.. Cats are so very different from dogs and so much more likely to cope. We can only hope with you that you will soon find out or that he will return.

Oh, so sorry to hear Buck left the house.. I hope he'll come back as nothing happened, maybe he's in love with some cat in the neiborhood (it's most likely this happened). I know how worried you are my friend :) Amazing portrait of Buck!

I agree with Ady - there must be a lady cat close by! I really do hope and pray that he returns unharmed and in good health Barbara!

Oh Barbara, I am so sorry! I know how worried you are. I'm sure he will be back. Cats are so cursedly independent, and it may take a while, but he knows he has a good thing, and he was with you for a while, so he has imprinted on you all well by this time. My sister had a cat that was gone for a couple of months and came back. It's useless to say don't worry, but know that you have a whole community here rooting for you and for Buck's return. I'm sure he still wants to live there he is just sowing some wild oats, as they do. Beautiful picture of him. You, Buck, and the girls are in my thoughts. My best wishes for his speedy return.

I'm guessing he found something he felt was worth exploring. If Buck was willing to pose for you and get to know the dogs, chances are good that he'll want to come back. After all, a cat needs his minions.

Oh Barbara, I am so sorry. Hopefully he will show up, he seemed so happy with you all. We had a cat one time who disappeared for about a week and one night at a party we had she walked across the floor. We finally discovered that she had found a hidy hole inside our daughter's box springs. We had another cat so she was getting food and water and I guess just went on retreat.

I know what you have been going through dear Barbara after Buck disappeared, and I knew in time you would tell your friends on Rendo. Remember that you have some good friends here, and I know just like me they will all pray for Buck's safety and eventually his return to you. Take good care dearest Barbara, love and hugs Janice and furryfolk, we love you xxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh Barb! My heart is breaking for you. I too know about cats, and how they sometime just choose to go walkabout, no matter how hard you try to protect them. Cats are not dogs. They are very independent minded, and you probably could not have prevented it. You have done everything in the world that you could do ensure the if he was found, he would come back to you. I'm betting he will come back. As someone else mentioned, sometimes it's months. It's so easy to sit here and tell you don't worry, but I can't say that to you, because when it's happened to me, I could not stop worrying. So just know that there are SO many of us here who are feeling your pain and worry, and praying for Buck's safety and well-being no matter where he is, and that he soon comes back home. Just remember Barb, it is NOT your fault, you are NOT to blame. Cats are cats, and they will do what they will do.
