Description
I was looking at dead branches in two large trees in the front of my house when I spotted this Wasp/Hornets Nest. It is quite a ways up in the tree. Thank goodness for Zoom lenses.
Anyone want to give me a hand getting rid of it?

I think this is a hornet's nest...they do that crescent thing with the paper layers, and believe it or not, they're quite docile...until you scare them, or unless they mistake you for a nice, juicy caterpillar to feed the queen's ever-hungry hatchlings. I love this shot, too...ah, but I'm one of those weirdos who likes wasps...mostly yellowjackets, but hornets are nice too...I love their patterns and their quirky architectural habits. As for removing this...it's best to remove a nest in winter, but this one is gonna require surgery, as it's built around parts of the tree. What a shot.
