Description

One BIG spider.. I do not know his name.... I tried hard to get a good shot. I know it is not an insect... No gallery for arachnids. :) I figure someone here knows the type. Cheryl

thanks - lol... ya ever get "tired legs" and they feel kinda nervous, like ya wann get up and walk? Well, I'm going through that, and now my imagination is feeling all these little bug legs crawling on my body, nope... they crawled on you, over your toes, did you feel that? on the back of your knee, the side of your head, under your nose... ... I forgot what I was going to say, I must of had an itch - lol.... Raid works... I'm sorry, I just don't care for spiders = lol

I am fascinated by spiders because the spiral network that joins the radial arms together is a Fibonacci sequence fractal. Still, I must confess, I find the creatures frightening. This is a truly excellent piece of macro camera work. But if it had been me, I would have been jumpy during the entire sequence. Your expertise with nature photography continues to amaze me. I look forward to much more of your fascinating work!

I'm guessing you got it right .. looks like a Golden Orb Weaver, which is the common name for these orb weaver spiders. Love these guys, love the webs they weave, and how big some of them manage to get before something else gets them! Excellent shots!
