'WITCH'S APPRENTICE' It looks better on *ZOOM* ... Hi Guys, It is so good to be back, and I have lots to say so I will split it all up and you can read whatever you want to, if you have time. SPECIAL THANKS TO LEILANA For all my cute gifts and for the cute witch seen in this picture. Take a look at her gallery ' Leilana ' here on Rendo, if you haven't before you are in for a wonderful surprise, her cute characters just make the heart melt. JaneEden - BACKGROUND I made the background, including cell doors, the lights and chains, the walls and floor etc. Ceiling was from Schonee's Witch cottage fabulous backgrounds. All worked using PS CS4 and PS ELEMENTS 8 PHOTOGRAPHY Of my Freddie Cat with my Finepix S5000 STORY AND POEM FOR 'WITCH'S APPRENTICE' - The little troll witch left the cat and her crow looking at the cauldron that was simmering nicely after her spells had been cast. She was making skull, eyeball, and pumpkin stew, a tasty little witch's brew, that she was going to enjoy on her return from her travels scaring everyone on Halloween night. She never imagined that one bored cat would decide to borrow her Sunday hat and proceed in casting his own spells that Halloween night!! Read on my friends ... 'So it happened one halloween night that one little cat had quite a fright after reading the witch's cookery spell book, he decided that yes he thought he could cook! In the cauldron were skulls, eyeballs, and pumpkin but the cat and the crow saw nothing was happening! So our little cat decided to cast a few spells the witch's staff he enchanted to stir the stew well. Round and round it stirred food that night but then, oh dear! it did not look right! The witch returned, saw her cat, and then sighed, funny she thought that he was transfixed by escaped eyes! They popped and bounced trying to leave that stew, so the witch cast a spell which was the best thing to do. A lesson was learnt that night by one silly cat, that in future he would not interfere, and that was that ...HAPPY HALLOWEEN SEASON MY FRIENDS. MY ACCIDENT NEWS AND APOLOGIES ... So sorry I have not been around for a couple of weeks to visit your galleries, but I had an accident! I was on the phone with my daughter when my office chair which is supposed to tilt back and stop, kept going and I crashed my head on the edge of a small cupboard as I fell with the chair to the ground. My daughter and my son in law rushed around to my house and I was still on the floor with 5 worried pets looking down on me, and they had never left my side in that time. I felt quite ill so an ambulance was called the paramedics decided to take me to hospital. I was diagnosed with concussion but allowed home because my daughter was going to sleep over with me. Unfortunately the doctors found I had a heart murmur to add to the other stuff wrong with me (ok so I am greedy lol). So I have been feeling poorly for a couple of weeks, but also awaiting a new office chair so that I can sit at my computer in some comfort. My daughter as always has been an angel, and she and my wonderful son in law went to get me my new chair yesterday, so here I am back with you all, and I did miss you so much. THANK YOU ALL - 'THE LITTLE LANTERN CARRIER' Thank you so much for all your wonderful and inspirational comments on The Little Lantern Carrier, I was overwhelmed by your generosity. Thank you for all the faves and to those who felt me good enough to add to their favourite artists. Take good care of yourselves, it is so good to be back, love and hugs Jane xx Thank you for visiting my gallery, and enjoy what you see, but please respect my copyright ©2010 JaneEden thank you.

Oh Jane! this is spectacular, adorable, stunning, sweet, fabulous and just plain purrrrfect! The background you painted is beyond belief! It is utterly fabulous! Your work has grown in leaps and bounds since you got the new program! You could paint and sell the bckgrnds! That's how good I think it is. Schonee's ceiling fits perfectly. The story from "Witch's Apprentice" is adorable and fits your image perfectly. I am so glad you are doing so much better, and when I heard you had taken that fall, I was afraid you'd had a concussion. I'm so glad your daughter was on the phone with you, and that she stayed the night so you could come home from hospital. Hugs

This scene certainly is cute, and gets us in the mood for the big Halloween, and the night time visits of our little Halloween trick-or-treaters.

This time again the magic of your words and images is there Dear Jane. The background that you have created is beautiful... You master your "tools" perfectly and it is obvious. It is also very representative of British artwork and illustrations. It is also what I love in your style because it is unique. I love the poem that you have written and this time it is a funny poem. As always it does reflect your natural thoughtfulness and sweetness. Your world is full of creatures but the most important characters are always kind and they always win for our greatest pleasure. :) It is always a personal pleasure to see images of your beautiful pets because as you know they are also our friends. Thanks to you and to your storyteller talents. It is really a very nice artwork for the Halloween season. ;) I hope that you will feel better very soon because what you went through was not pleasant at all. I am sorry that you had that accident and that you had to go to the hospital. But what you tell with your pets around you to comfort you does show that they love you and that they are loyal friends. I am sure that they were really worried for you. I am happy that your daughter and brother in law were there to help you because the consequences of such accidents are sometimes tragic. But you are back and we are all happy... :) Thank you again for sharing your wonderful and comforting art with us. And thank you very much for driving our minds away from real life each time we discover a new creation of yours. You are indispensable Dear Jane! :) Your friend, Philippe

Jane, I'm so sorry to hear you got hurt. Glad to hear you were able to get assistance in such short order, head injuries are not to be trifled with. I'm also glad to know you are recovering. These things just happens it seems, my sister was in a minor accident just last week, just a sprain in her case though. I love this rendering. The cat looks so perplexed by what he has done. Yet, he seems determined to not be intimidated by this horrid manifestation emerging from the coldrone. Even if it turns out to be bigger than him. Take care.

I am very behind on everything of late. I'm so sorry to hear of your accident, but glad that you are better and that your loved ones (furry and otherwise) were there for you. My best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery. Excellent image and poem! I love the eyes escaping from the pot and the silly cat staring at them! Wonderful composition, and light! Lovely rays of light coming through the bars and shadows of the lamps. Beautiful background with lovely design, textures, and details.

My god, I view all the images I miss when I'm absent but I don't always read the texts until I actually comment. I only read this today, and I'm so sorry you had an accident, and such a scare, and went through so much in its aftermath. I genuinely didn't read everything (I stopped after "happy halloween")--mea culpa, Jane! I know too that you have a birthday coming up & I'll send you something as I did last year (if I'm unable to be online). (I may be late, but you'll get something. I'm doing birthdays almost exclusively offline right now, because of the weeks I've been offline.) Sorry your birthday has to come at such a time! But I'm glad you're ok now, and hope you don't have residual pain, headaches, etc. (I've had concussion, I know how it can feel. I'm glad your family came to your rescue, and that your pets stayed by your side the whole time. Animals do that instinctively...) Your image is a sheer delight: The girl/witch is just delightful, both in her outfit and her curls; she has an almost doll-like presence. Freddie is beautifully lit (and seamlessly sitting in the scene as all your pets do, in your art). That beautiful green-eyed creature in the cauldron is just luminous, playful and perfect; your other details & objects are beautiful, scattered throughout the image & melded into the whole via a warm dark brownish patina. Even the cobwebs & mist through the window are more magical than 'scary'. (Though they're scary in the sweetest sense, like a child's holiday.) And it's all framed by delightful cobwebs atop. A real fairy tale image, and a real delight; and one of your many beautiful holiday images, Jane. I will write to you soon. You mentioned my music a little while back...with the events of this year, I haven't done any music in months. But I have files here, and one of these days I'll get them together and make them available to you if you wish. In the meantime, I wish you a healing month, much peace & blessings, and apologize for my absences; please know they've been to everyone, across the board. And I truly hope your healing is going well. Many blessings your way & thanks for another charmed, magical, seamless and beautiful image. Heal to the core! mark
