Description

Was reading Space News and they had an article on the deepest part of the Martian surface with a great link to a HIRISE photo and DEM of the very deepest part of Mars. Used my Vue7 to make the terrain, then smoothed it down slightly and used the color photo as the texture map. Think it is one of the best--and most accurate--Martain terrains with which I've ever come up. I'm especially pleased with the dusty atmosphere of this picture. This scene inspired me to attempt my first serious modeling venture within Vue--although, I used Vue6 instead of Vue 7. Hence, the Martian Flier in the scene. If anybody thinks its worth posting at ShareCG or here at Rendo Freebies, let me know. The scale in this scene is almost too vast to comprehend. From the highest point on Mars to its lowest is a distance of approximately 7.5 kilometers. I think from the bottom of this picture to the top skyline is about 5 plus kilometers--and you can't even see the very top of the canyon rim! Mind-boggling! I'm dedicating this to two of my most oldest and loyal cyber friends and supporters: Geirla and Grafikeer. Thanks, guys, for all those visits and helpful or encouraging comments. Always look forward to what you have to say. If you haven't ever visited their galleries, then try these links: Geirla: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?user_id=6659 Grafikeer: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?user_id=528459 And, Poser folk, don't sneer at their use of Bryce. They consistantly post renders that you would not believe Bryce could pull off; except that you're seeing the evidence with your own eyes. Believe me, you're in for a real visual treat. Thanks, everybody for your previous visits and remarks--and a special thanks to those who added me or my works to their favorites list. Always deeply appreciated. Jeremy CREDITS: Vue6 and Vue7 Pro Studio. Vehicle: Martian Flier modeled by me in Vue6. Jet Exhausts: (Which are hard to see in this render) is a freebie from so long ago, I no longer can locate who made it or where I got it. Terrain and texture created in Vue7 from a recent NASA HIRISE photo.
