Description

This is an uncommom species to see in most parts of the UK. It is turning up a lot more than that here in Lincolnshire. This male was joining in with the Mallards. When the small children throw food in for the ducks, he joins in. So this close up taken with a compact wasn't too difficult as you can see.

I lived in Lincolnshire for 9 month's. Loved the city, hated Boston where I was and was very glad to see the back of it. Lincoln itself though was fabulous! So full of history! Trago Mills has these, along with black swans and many oriental chickens. Their look rather reminds me of the gentle look Ringed Wood Doves have - but in the case of the latter, it belies a quite argumentative nature. Really lovely image of this pretty duck. ^=^
