BIO
Born in Cambridge in the United Kingdom, i now live in Montreal.... not too sure how that hapned, but its a pretty cool place to hang your hat!! I have worked as a professional designer for the past 15 years and my work has encompassed dance, opera, pantomime (a particularly british pass time at christmas) classic theater, improvised works and a great deal of outreach work with both dance schools and theater groups aimed at helping children and young adults access the theatrical world when they would otherwise not have the chance. My art work is inspired by my job, my interest in tarot and my love of science fiction and fantasy as well as the rather extensive amount of traveling i have done of late.

Nice one here. Interesting that you still prefer Vue 7, because I do so myself. Odd things do happen in 8!

Wonderfully done...and every time I see or read the title Hern I think of an Enya song...and this has the same general vibe for me: concrete and ethereal all at once. I love the sense of color and the character himself is so well done. I love the way you incorporate a sense of sensuality in so many of your images: there's a simmering quality--erotic in the background, so to speak, but not necessarily an erotic image. It's as if your characters all possess a "real" sense of body awareness and they know how to pose or do anything that makes them look good to others. That's a rare thing in art: all too often a lesser artist will resort to cliche and to a kind of artistic shorthand in order to convey something. As a result, whatever happens to be conveyed turns into "just another picture of a guy with no shirt" or "just another picture of a woman with breasts" or "just another dog chewing a bone" or whatever...THIS is different, as so many of your works are in that they become studies of light and shadow, studies of color, environment, character, or a combination of things. THAT is what's so great in all of your gallery, and I'm glad to always have those pleasant surprises whenever I peek in. This is good stuff!
