Description
We lucky folks in the South West (and the South for that matter), have two things going for us. The most important one is the Gulf Stream, that little (or not!) beauty which keeps our Palm trees growing and our weather system, for the most part, (so far!), temperate. It's one of the reasons this county is called the Cornish Riviera. The other reason is that most of our weather comes from the West, via the fabulous Emerald Isle - or Ireland as it's called. That is also the why we don't have droughts here, despite what the water authority would have you believe! I can't speak for the other south western counties, but here the water authority screams "Drought!!" if we have more than 3 days sunshine.... silly people!
Having said that, if we continue screwing up as we are, the Gulf Stream will dissipate into nothingness, in which case life as we know it will also go the way of the dinosaurs!
That would make me angry! (hands up everyone who thought *and you wouldn't like me if I got angry*.... hehe) Showing your age there folks!
Where was I..? Oh yes. Weather thingy.
The other day, after taking the lake pics and walking through the Scots Pine woodland, which also is adjacent to the Par Sands, the clouds really darkened, so I returned to the beach in order to take this.
Down the bottom to the right, is a lovely piece of kelp attached to the nobbly bit of the sort Andrea posted the other day. There must have been a storm out at sea because the sands were covered in the seaweeds which occur much further out in deeper water. I love it when that happens. We get some amazing sea weeds with unbelievable colours and shapes.
Whilst rambling, I shall also tell you that I found a fossilised sharks tooth here a week ago. I brought it home all ready to photograph, and Barney, in his enthusiasm to help me place it, knocked it off the table and it broke in two! Least he didn't actually try to eat any of it (he will eat anything - his second name is vacuum - hoover being so common!) so I shall glue it and post it at a later date.
And...that's all folks! Off to play catchup! ^=^
Thank you for comments, faves and for taking the time to look. ^=^

Great atmospheric shot, Carpathia, and yes, what a ghastly tragedy it will be when the Gulf Stream dies...it is surely certain to happen eventually. You actually probably quite like me when I'm angry! ..together we could terrorise most effectively!! I have a very large hole in my garden today where I had an enormous bamboo removed and replanted elswhere..I must fill it in as the dogs are interring all their soft toys in it!
