He's back, first of all thankyou so much for wishing Buck a safe return, you all helped me so much. xxx
I told David this morning that I didn't think we would see Buck again :o(
This afternoon about 3.30 I got a phone call from a fella who said I think I have your cat :o) :o) I had put Buck on the lost & found of the local paper website & the fella said he had the pic in front of him & he was sure it was Buck. I asked if I could go see & sure enough it was our Buck :o) :o)
He had arrived at their house (not too far from here but across a main road) this last Wednesday, mewing through the patio doors, they let him in & he was looking for food so they fed him. They took his to the vets next day (which is a branch of my vets, who I had rung to say he was missing but they didn't say anything :o( wait till I see Mike :o) to see if micro chipped. He isn't. They took him home & have looked after him ever since. :o)
Buck was quite at home there, would have lived quite happily there (thats cats for you). He is not in as good a nick as when I picked him up from the rescue, he has lost weight & his bad eye had his eyelids stuck together :o( He came home, walked up the stairs, took up his position on the top as if he had never been away :o) He has eaten, played & now having a sleep. Girls haven't seen him yet, thought better let him settle before they ask him where he has been :o)
I feel so elated, carn't explain how I feel. I kept thinking, flip its Halloween & Bonfire night soon & felt sick at the thought of him being out there on those nights, plus it is getting colder.
Not to worry now he is home safe.
Thankyou once again, for thinking about him & all the lovely comments on the life of the girls, so appreciated. xxxxx

Thank you so much for telephoning me as soon as Buck came home Barbara, I am still buzzing with the good news!! Yippee and phew, how relieved you must be. I felt so sad after seeing you yesterday because the strain of losing Buck was certainly showing, and I felt at a loss just wanting to make it alright again for you. so glad buck is back home again. also glad someone had him safe and then got a hold of you. if you can train him to a collar or harness and a leash to go to the place outside for safty and him not running off again.

Buck certainly had luck on his side .. or angels .. or the wee folk who love cats .. someone was watching over him. It's wonderful that he found someone who was so full of love and so caring that they let a strange cat into their home and then took him to the vets! And now he's home. My soul is so at rest now, and my heart just filled with joy! I could just hug him .. so you must do it for me! and give yourself a hug from me, too!

This is wonderful news! I am so happy for you, and Buck. Cats are a bit harder to get settled in a place than dogs. Maybe this time it will stick, and he will see how much he is loved by your household.

Good to hear that it's worked out. I'm guessing Buck didn't exactly find what he was looking for, but was fortunate enough to find somewhere to crash until he could find a way home again to where his spot is. I hope you kept the phone number of the people who took him in, just in case he decides to wander again, just in case he finds his way over there again. If he stayed with them, he must like them as well.
