Description

As a few colleagues here at rendo mentioned before, except for Panko's weapons & Ranman38's Firefly, there are no true British uniforms or vehicules. The battle dress is advancing quite well except for the boots which I'm still not happy about. I now have to learn how to use splines to get a nice smooth shape not the lumpy boot. In the mean time I dug out my old universal carrier & remodeled it in Modo using the old model as pattern. So what is in light grey as the bogie assembly is still from the old model & was created using booleans, the new parts are in a darker warm grey. I added the soldier for scale purposes. Also worked on a Lee Enfield No.4 rifle, Panko's rifle is an SMLE, & a beautiful model but it wasn't used by the airborne troops or during the Normandy landings. As a rule of thumb because the two rifle's magazines weren't compatible, you couldn't interchange them, so prior to 1942 you would see the SMLE being used in all theaters of war afterwards it was used throughout Sicily & Italy until the end of the war. Mind You I've seen a picture of a british soldier using an SMLE surrounded by a group of comrades using No.4 rifles instead taken in Normandy. So besides the universal carrier & the No.4 rifle I will me doing the Bren, the Sten MkV for the airborne & the piat as antitank weapon. As usual comments are welcome & thx for looking.

Glad to see you're taking it easy :-) I have to agree about the shortfall in British 'stuff'... I'm trying to build up the RAF side with recent addition of Mustang III and just finishing a Mosquito.May look into some British armour.Keep going mate...with the recent Defence Review we may be the next 'thin red line'..

Interesting looking machine there. I've heard of it, but never knew what one looks like. Now I have at least a partial notion.
