Description
From childhood's hour I have not been As others were—I have not seen As others saw—I could not bring My passions from a common spring. From the same source I have not taken My sorrow; I could not awaken My heart to joy at the same tone; And all I lov'd, I loved alone. In visions of the dark night I have dreamed of joy departed— But a waking dream of life and light Hath left me broken-hearted. Ah! what is not a dream by day To him whose eyes are cast On things around him with a ray Turned back upon the past? For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side Of my darling—my darling—my life and my bride, In her sepulchre there by the sea, In her tomb by the sounding sea. —Edgar Allan Poe, Alone; A Dream; Annabel Lee

The first thing that came up in my mind after watching this beautiful picture and reading the poem was Simply Red's video "Holding back the years" - watch it, if you haven't seen it, it's so beautiful... :) Vashek

Though taken from him, he has not let her loss prevent her from making his own kingdom, though it be in darkness and solitude. All that I've "ever" loved I've loved alone.

very precious words you choose to go along the render,it moves my heart and i think that was your intention.as i try to look at all the works im visiting with the heart, its always a joy when a feeling is provoked no matter what feeling,my opinion is a text and an image shall provoke a reaction even widely spread even different people different reactions and all that. the "technical"side of an artwork is a bit more secondary to me,it has to hit first and then i look deeper. i always feel warm and safe when visiting your works terry. ps an image is ready for the upload dedicated to you and the gogo.
