That time of year....a sharp frost at 3.00a.m. this morning. I'm glad I put hay round my tender Abutilon last night. Went to get a couple of apples out of the garage only to find that one had been half eaten by a mouse. Now, I don't begrudge the little creature anything, apart from when he ate all my beans in the Spring, but there are plenty of apples on next door's lawn, off their tree. Today I fill up the hole in the woodwork. He can eat al fresco!
